IMPACT LOUDSPEAKERS IMPACT SERIES The very stylish Impact series consists of three bookshelf loudspeakers, two floor models and two center loudspeakers. High-sensitivity drivers yield louder, crisper sound, even when using low-power amplifiers. Special features include beveled, non-resonant, vinyl covered 7/8" (22 mm) MDF front baffle, solid horizontal bracing, 5-way gold plated binding posts. All Impact models feature black ash sides and a silver front.

TWEETERAll 1" (25 mm) dome tweeters use ultra-thin silk diaphragms and copper covered aluminum voice coils resulting in an assembly that rapidly dissipates large amounts of heat. The special tweeter lens boosts the sensitivity, while directing sound where it is needed, producing trebles that are clear and transparent. |
WOOFER AND MIDRANGERubber surround is used on the woofers and midrange drivers to provide longer life and lower distortion. High temperature voice coils and oversize magnet assemblies will deliver higher power handling capability. The center speakers are magnetically shielded to enable use near TV screens. |
FIVE-WAY BINDING POSTSTo provide flexibility for your preferred wiring connections, all models are equipped with five-way binding posts, typical of more expensive loudspeakers. Floor standing models also feature spikes. |
CABINET CONSTRUCTIONThe Impact series has cabinet design features which help reduce cabinet resonance and deliver clearer sound. All models are constructed with 5/8" (16 mm) thick cabinets. In addition to the 1" thick front baffle, the IM40 and IM50 also have internal horizontal bracing. |
EGGSHELL INSULATIONThe interior of all Impact loudspeakers is lined with acoustic eggshell foam to prevent the transmission of unwanted driver vibrations to the cabinet. The result is a clear, natural musical sound. |
